Eyes On 2023 Raises $1,000 for Guide Dogs of America

Eyes On Eyecare Values Partnerships With Non-Profits

San Diego, California – December  16, 2022 – Eyes On 2023, held from November 18-20, was pleased to choose Guide Dogs of America as the charity of choice for the event. The charity was spotlighted in the Virtual Conference Bag, and attendees were invited to click a button for which Eyes On 2023 would donate $1 in their names. Additionally, the event featured a “puppy cam” that allowed attendees to check in on various puppies throughout the event.

At the end of the event, Eyes On 2023 donated $1,000 to Guide Dogs of America and on behalf of the event attendees.

“We are in awe of how Guide Dogs of America is changing lives by breeding, raising, and training guide dogs for those who are visually impaired,” said Matt Geller, OD, co-founder and CEO of CovalentCreative, the parent company of Eyes On Eyecare. “This is an organization that showcases how much can be accomplished for the visually impaired outside of the clinic and emphasizes the importance of confidence, mobility, and independence for all people.”

Eyes On 2023 was the biggest virtual eyecare event of 2022 with more than 5,000 attendees, who were able to earn up to nine hours of complimentary COPE-approved CE and CME along with over 20 additional hours of education from more than 40 leading eyecare providers. The goal of the event was to give today’s eyecare providers a first look at future-forward trends in optometry and ophthalmology, including new innovations and current best practices in treating the most critical diseases and biggest barriers to healthy vision.

“We are so pleased that Eyes On 2023 attendees could enjoy our dogs and gain more insight into what we do,” said Zachary Gittlen, Manager of Development and Marketing at Guide Dogs of America. “Our organizations are aligned in our commitment to improving the lives of the blind and visually impaired through service and innovative ideas.”

Eyes On Eyecare will continue to hold virtual events for the eyecare community, including events focused on disease states such as dry eye, glaucoma, myopia, retinal disease, and more. The organization plans to continue with charitable giving initiatives like this one, that keep event attendees engaged and raise awareness about visionary organizations in the eyecare industry.
