Current Puppy Raisers

Current Puppy Raisers

Support

Our Canine Development Department works with our Puppy Raisers providing training support throughout their fostering, until they enter formal training. This not only allows us to observe and assess the young puppies to make sure they are meeting important benchmarks, but also provides Puppy Raisers with guidance and support along the way.

Group classes are also conducted throughout the Southern California areas to support the development of our future guide and service dogs, creating a valuable resource and interaction for our puppy raisers.

Updates

Puppy raisers are required to submit a monthly report for each month they foster the puppy. Monthly reports can be submitted via any computer or smart phone – please click on the form links to the right.

If another puppy raiser watches your puppy, even if just for a few hours, the sitter is required to submit a Puppy Sitting Report.

In addition, we ask that Puppy Raisers provide feedback on Group Classes, as well as In Home, so that we can continue to improve resources and support.

Boarding

We encourage monthly visits to our kennels, so that puppies can familiarize themselves with the GDA campus, as they grow and learn. To make a reservation, please click on the Boarding Request link to the right or email boarding@guidedogsofamerica.org. Please be sure to bring a Dog Drop Off Form at time of boarding.

Veterinary Care

Veterinary appointments may be available during boarding stays. Please contact the Vet Department prior to the kennel visit to inquire about an appointment. If you have pre-arranged a veterinary appointment, please print and complete a Veterinary Questionnaire prior to the visit.

Veterinary Reimbursement

Outside veterinary care requires pre-approval for reimbursement. Once approved, please submit a Veterinary Reimbursement Form.

If you have difficulty accessing or submitting a form, please contact us at 818-362-5834 or mail@guidedogsofamerica.org
